The paper presents a case study of Book Talks as a best practice in a University Library – the context that initiated the practice; the objectives; the details of the practice; its impact and the outcome. The Atmiya University Library and Learning centre has been conducting book talks with the help of their own faculty to begin with and now the students. It has been a regular practice on Saturday’s which begins with a platform for talent show and ends with a high tea and discussion on the Book. This practice has attracted many students and faculties on regular basis to develop the reading habit which has been found beneficial in developing many skills, most essentially – presentation and comprehension skills. The paper also provides a comprehensive literature review for further reading on practices in book talks and reading programmes globally.

<summary type="text">Strengthening Research Capacity: A Framework of Library-Led Support Services at Atmiya University
Tank, Sheetal; Kanabar, Varsha; Bhatt, Raksha
Research capacity building is a core priority within higher education institutions, and academic libraries play a&#13;
pivotal role in enabling this process. This paper presents a case study of the Library and Learning Centre (LLC)&#13;
at Atmiya University, illustrating how a structured, multi-level approach to information literacy, digital literacy,&#13;
scholarly communication, and research support significantly strengthens institutional research culture. Atmiya&#13;
University, with its modern Outcome Based Education (OBE) framework and value-integrated academic&#13;
structure, provides an ecosystem in which the library has strategically embedded research-enabling services&#13;
across undergraduate, postgraduate, doctoral, and faculty development programmes. The LLC offers&#13;
comprehensive interventions—ranging from compulsory credit courses for undergraduates and tailored&#13;
information literacy modules for research scholars to routine awareness programmes for faculty. Additional&#13;
engagement models such as the Earn While You Learn Scheme and the Social Internship Programme further&#13;
foster research skills, critical thinking, and practical exposure. Evidence of impact is reflected in substantial&#13;
growth in document delivery requests, plagiarism check usage, and student participation in internship activities.&#13;
Findings demonstrate that an integrated and collaborative library-led framework can enhance research&#13;
productivity, promote ethical scholarship, and cultivate lifelong learning competencies. The case of Atmiya&#13;
University underscores the potential of academic libraries to evolve from support units into active partners in&#13;
institutional research development.
